Before the present day Buffalo Bills were formed in 1959, another team named the Buffalo Bills played in the All-American Football Conference (AAFC). Originally known as the Buffalo Bisons, they were renamed the Buffalo Bills on June 16, 1947. The AAFC lasted from 1946-1949 when some of the teams merged with the NFL. Unfortunately, the Bills were not one of the teams.
